She whispers recovery to the stars late at night.
My name is Kayla. I have struggled with mental illness half of my life. This is my recovery, and hopefully yours too. This blog is intended for anyone. Anyone who struggles, anyone who knows someone who struggles, anyone who needs a smile to brighten their day. My hope is to share hope.

You can write to me here, I am the only administrator right now, and I will always write back. Or you can email me at shewhispersrecovery@gmail.com

I do not claim to be a professional, I have no formal training in mental illness. I am simply a girl who knows what it's like to be alone, with a dream that no one will feel that way again. I know I can't save the world, but I can try and save yours.
Whisper your love.

It Couldn’t Be Done

Somebody said that it couldn’t be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it”;
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.

Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, “I will try again tomorrow.”

Emotional Baggage Check

A friend of mine posted this on facebook, and I think it is a brilliant idea.

http://emotionalbagcheck.com/

Leave some baggage, and someone will read your post and send you a song via the site to help you through.

Check out some baggage and read someone’s post, and send them a song to help them through.

Give a little, take a little :)

LESSONS FROM TREES
Value your roots.
They offer strength and stability, anchoring us when fierce winds blow.
Don’t hesitate to branch out.
You never know who you will meet or which doors will open when you explore new paths and pursue new connections.
Don’t be afraid to go out on a limb.
Follow your heart.
Take a risk.
You will never know unless you try.
Give yourself the benefit of the doubt.
Sometimes you have to shed your bark in order to grow.
When we let go of the past, we are able to move forward with the present.
Spring always follows Winter.
When things are at their worst, they can only get better.
Seasons don’t last forever, and neither do sadness and despair.
Change is always upon us.
It’s okay to be a late bloomer.
Everyone has their own unique journey.
There are no right or wrong paths, only different paths.
Life is about the process, not the destination.
It doesn’t matter when we arrive—what matters is simply that we arrive.
